Coach Borden

This is Coach Borden’s first year on the staff and he is looking forward to working with such a great group of experienced coaches. Coach Borden comes to EHS via Puyallup High School where he coached defensive line under Hall of Fame Head Coach Tom Ingles. During Coach Borden’s tenure at Puyallup, the Vikings racked up an impressive 40-6 record and were ranked as one of the top 10 teams in the state each year. 

Coach Borden was born in Honolulu, HI and moved to the Redmond, WA area when he was 8 yrs old. He is proud to say that he is a graduate of Eastlake High School and was a three year, two-way starter and all-conference football player for the Wolves from 1993 -1995. After high school, Coach Borden received a scholarship to play football for Idaho State. He opted to go the junior college route and ended up at Palomar College in San Diego, CA. He started for two years at defensive end for the nationally ranked Comets and was a unanimous All-Mission Conference selection in 1999. Coach Borden was selected to the JUCO Fab 50, which honors the top 50 prospects in the country coming out of junior college. He went on to receive a scholarship to play at Sacramento State University where he started for two years at defensive end
and was voted team captain as a senior.

Coach Borden has been married for 3 yrs to his wife Erika, an Issaquah High graduate. He loves spending time with his two beautiful daughters, Kai and Makana. He also enjoys following his younger brother Makai’s football career, who is an All-Big Sky linebacker at Eastern Washington University.
