After the season of 2006, Dick Nicholl completed 40 years of coaching football, 28 of them as head football coach at Mercer Island High School. Dick was also the head coach at Centralia High School from 1970-1972. Dick also served as the head track coach at both Centralia and Mercer Island High Schools for many years.
After two years in the Peace Corps in Venezuela, he began his teaching career in 1966 as a Spanish teacher. He taught Spanish for 30 years in the classroom.
Dick has been married for 42 years to his wife Linda. They are proud parents to three children and six grandchildren. Dick is also a member of the Board of Directors of the local chapter of the National Football Foundation/College Hall of Fame that honors scholar-athletes.
