WOLVES JV FOOTBALL DOMINATES IN AWAY GAME @ LAKE WASHINGTON

Cold and windy at game time with a few passing showers.

The first quarter kickoff started off with a big kick by Noah Weintraub to the Lake Washington Kangs with no return. On the first series for the Kangs was dropped for a 7-yard loss by Wyatt Bickford and Will Doran leading to a quick three and out.

Parker Barrysmith starting at quarterback for the first Wolves drive with a 7-yard pass to Cody Matson, short pass to Michael Lester for a first down, and a huge 35-yard touchdown pass to Noah Weintraub for the TD. With the conversion Wolves up by 7.

Following another great kick, the Kangs had a 35-yard run back. This drive was stopped quickly by two back to back tackles by Darren Hom for big Kangs losses. After the punt, the first down handoff to Jack Peterson for an elusive 60-yard carry for the second touchdown. After another perfect conversion, the Wolves are up 14-0 on the Kangs.

Huge credit to the Offensive front line for negating the Kangs defensive rush and blowing huge running lanes for the Wolves running backs. Adam Westmoreland, Luke “Carolina” Robertson, Jake Freshour, and several others.

Kickoff to the Kangs with Logan Eller with a BIG hit pinning them back on their 15-yardline.

Kangs throw a quick screen pass to get their first down with two minutes remaining in the first quarter, but the drive fails as Evann Tauscher drops the running back in the backfield for a third down loss.

End of the first quarter Eastlake 14 Kangs 0

With the first Kangs possession of the second quarter Evann Tauscher had a sack for a loss and Will Eaton dropped the back on an outside run for a loss.

On the next Eastlake possession, the Wolves found themselves pinned inside their own 10-yard line. Parker Barrysmith with a clutch pass to Griffin Miller for 37-yards, another big pass to Sam Coomes for 10-yards, and Michael Lester for a big run evading tackles along the way for 32-yards.

After a Wolves turnover the Kangs throw a pass that was intercepted by Will Eaton that happened to be reading the play the entire time.

With seven seconds left in the half and in driving rain Will Eaton catches a perfect 64-yard catch and run for the touchdown!!

At half Wolves up 21 – 0

With the Wolves receiving their first drive of Q3 started off with a Nathanael Birchfield 15-yard run. Late in the drive a run down the middle for another Wolves touchdown to bring the score up to 27 - 0

Sam Coomes and Nate Hanna with big tackles leads to another Kangs three and out.

Going into the fourth quarter Eastlake 27 Kangs 0

In the fourth Will Eaton gets a tipped ball for another interception, Michael Lester with back to back 25-yard runs. Ike Schneidler had a 15-yard pass to Michael Lester and a nice 15-yard run with time running out in the fourth. Last play was a Jack Peterson run to the Kangs 4-yardline.
