The Eastlake JV hosted Woodinville Monday night and walked away with a dominating win, 41-20.

The Falcons came out fast and took the opening kickoff the distance giving them an early lead, 7-0. Eastlake answered quickly and after a strong run by Matt Brookshier, putting them at midfield, Jackson Proctor kept the ball on the very next snap and took it to the house for 56 yards and a TD. Noah Weintraub came in for the PAT attempt, nailed it, and tied the ball game at 7-7. The Falcons took over deep in their own territory but failed on a 4th and 9 attempts after Trent Nicholson broke up a pass for what would have been a 1st down. Eastlake took over on downs at midfield and with just one snap and a hand off to Brookshier found themselves in the end zone again with a Brookshier TD. After a barely missed PAT, the Wolves took the lead 13-7. The Defense came up big again with a quick 3 and out and once again handed the ball back to their offense on downs. Proctor hit Zade Thompson for an 18-yard pass to start the drive followed by a quick 7-yard pass completion to Jack Miller. The Wolves continued their drive with a screen pass to Nick Robbins for 25 yards as the 1st quarter came to a close.

The Wolves started the 2nd quarter and capped off their 1st quarter drive with a 5 yd TD pass to Joey Grzetic. After a Weintraub PAT, the Wolves widened their lead to 20-7. The Falcons finally found their offense with some quick passes giving them a 1st down and in Wolves territory. The Wolves didn’t break though and after a 3rd and long stop got the ball on their own 38. The offense was stalled for the first time in the game and punted with just minutes left on the clock. After a huge sack by Carson Seelig for a loss of 13 the Falcons kept their hopes alive with a long 22-yard pass. Seelig came up big again with another sack for a loss and the quarter ended with a defensive stop and a Wolves 20-7 lead.

The Wolves took the opening kickoff of the 2nd half and went to work right away on offense. Proctor marched the offense down the field starting with a quick 1st down pass to Alex Piavis followed by a Brookshier 1st down run. Proctor then hit a striding Thompson for a 45-yard TD pass. The Wolves added to their score giving them a 27-7 lead. The Falcons needed to start scoring fast and came out with a long throw for a 1st down and the ball at the 40. Sam Coomes had a tackle for a loss on the next play but only temporarily stalling their drive as they converted on a 3rd and long and scored on the next play. The Falcons missed their PAT but closed the gap on the Eastlake lead, 27-13. With just a few minutes left in the 3rd quarter, Proctor hit Robbins for a quick 1st down pass as time expired.

The Wolves continued their drive to start the 4th quarter with a great scramble by Proctor shaking off multiple tacklers. He was finally tackled at the 10-yard line of the Falcons but unfortunately sacked on the very next play pushing them back beyond the 20. With a 3rd and goal Proctor hit Coomes for a 12 yd reception. The Wolves went for it on 4th down from the 4-yard line. Proctor

found Scott Maule in the end zone for a quick TD pass and a 34-13 lead. The Falcons came back again with a kickoff return for a TD making the score 34-20. The Falcons getting within 2 TDs opted for an onside kick, but the Wolves recovered at midfield. With time ticking the Wolves worked the clock with handoffs to Yost and a big 9-yard catch by Owen Burke. Jackson kept the ball on the next snap for a 1st down and then handed off to Yost for the final score of the game. After a last gasp effort by the Falcons was shut down by a Piavis interception the Wolves walked away with a 41-20 victory.
